Lourdes is one of the greatest Marian shrines in the world. Here, praying to Our Lady of Lourdes, one may obtain refreshment, courage, energy and inspiration to continue the age-old struggle of the great Catholic Faith against the forces of darkness and disintegration.
February 11 is the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes, one of the most famous apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this day in 1858 a young, poor girl named Bernadette Soubirous was out collecting firewood with her sister and another friend near a grotto when she saw a vision of a lovely lady.
We are a community of believers, young and old, male and female all created in the "image and likeness" of God. We come from Utica, Whitesville, Philpot, Hawesville, Owensboro and all over Daviess County. Most importantly we come together to serve God and to witness our Catholic lives to others.
First Communion, Confirmation. This weekend we celebrate First Eucharist at St. Anne, as we did last weekend at OLOL. Congratulations to all of our First Communicants! Also, two members of the Korean Catholic community Jong Youl Lee, and Joo Yeb Chu, which meets at St. Anne have complete the RCIA and will be baptized, con-firmed and receive first communion at the 4pm Mass.
