The Church of Notre Dame (New York City) is an affiliated Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is dedicated to her veneration and Lourdes waters are available to pilgrims at the New York church, with the 1910 interior constructed as a faithful, large-scale replica of the Grotto.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes or the Domain (as it is most commonly known) is an area of ground surrounding the Catholic shrine (Grotto) to Our Lady of Lourdes in the town of Lourdes, France. The Sanctuary is a destination for pilgrimage ; sick pilgrims are reputed to be miraculously healed by Lourdes water.
I am a new candidate at Lady of Lourdes and as part of our classes to become Catholic we took a tour… of the Cathedral. I have to say that I was truly moved by the beauty of the cathedral, and all the symbolism of the catholic church.

The parish began work on Our Lady of Lourdes School in 1926, and it opened on January 4, 1927. The school was staffed by the Sisters of Mercy. The church in the basement of the school building was blessed by Bishop McCort on February 10, 1927.
