The only change to the sanctuary fittings has been the removal of a tester from over the altar. Behind is the organ, by N P Mander Ltd., whose pipes are set over a pierced mosaic screen containing a figure of Christ, King and Priest by Daphne Hardy Henrion. Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, as it is known today, was established on October 6, 1999, as a response to the challenges of changing demographics and priest shortages in our area. While the parish is less than twenty years old, our history goes back much further.

The grotto area surrounding the statue of Mary in front of the church rectory was built in 1949. Originally designed as a shrine to Our Lady of Fatima, it once included kneeling concrete statues of the children of Fatima which deteriorated and broke over the years and were eventually removed.

The surprise of 1000 Motorcycles – Stoney’s Lobster Run connected Our Lady Queen of Peace with St. John in Brunswick long before the two churches were part of All Saints Parish . John H. “Stoney” Dionne put together Stoney’s Lobster Run as a fund raiser for Maine Children’s Cancer Programs in the early 1980s.
